Football: Case dropped against former Westlake receiver Nelson Spruce

Prosecutors have decided not to pursue an allegation of adult possession of marijuana at school against former Westlake receiver Nelson Spruce, his father, Neal, said.

‘There was no case,’ the elder Spruce said.

In April, a drug-sniffing dog supplied by a private security company detected marijuana in Spruce’s car at Westlake, according to a Ventura County Sheriff’s Depertment spokesman.

Spruce, an honors student, signed with Colorado.
