Football: Another Redell takes the stage

Oaks Christian football Coach Bill Redell loves microphones, and now his grandson, Bear Redell, has taken center stage.

Bear Redell is an incoming freshman quarterback at Santa Ynez High who also sings. Bear is the son of former Encino Crespi offensive lineman Billy Redell.

‘He’s a very talented kid,’ Bill Redell said.

He certainly tops his grandfather in the singing competition.

‘I couldn’t play piano, couldn’t sing, couldn’t play guitar,’ Redell said. ‘I had two days of piano lessons when I was 7 and decided that was enough.’
