The first month of the seven-on-seven summer passing competitions is over, and Mission Hills Alemany and Long Beach Poly were the two most dominant teams.

Poly won the Dana Hills and Saugus tournaments, and Alemany picked up its third passing title of the summer on Wednesday, beating Moorpark in the championship game of the College of the Canyons tournament.

‘They whipped us,’ Moorpark Coach Tim Lins said.

Cornerbacks Basil Boyd and Brandon Chin each had an interception for Alemany, which has an abundance of speed and skill-position players.

New quarterback Devon Dunn continues to be efficient and effective.

Alemany defeated Newhall Hart in the semifinals. Moorpark defeated Glendale in the semifinals.

Alemany, which also won the Pierce and Conejo Valley tournaments, will play in the Valley College tournament on July 9. Poly plays in the Edison tournament on the same day.
