Boys’ basketball: Fairfax, Mater Dei advance to semifinals

Fairfax and Santa Ana Mater Dei advanced to the semifinals of the Fairfax tournament with victories on Wednesday.
Fairfax defeated Encino Crespi, 61-57. Landon Drew had 15 points. London Perrantes led Crespi with 23 points. Mater Dei defeated Dorsey, 61-42. Eli Stalzer had 16 points and Xavier Johnson 15. Fairfax will play Mater Dei on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday’s quarterfinal schedule: Loyola vs. Santa Monica, 7 p.m.; Long Beach Poly vs. Alemany, 8:30 p.m.
Scores from the Compton Dominguez tournament: Dominguez 56, Long Beach Cabrillo 41; Ocean View 71, Lawndale 60; La Verne Lutheran 68, Leuzinger 51; Mayfair 80, Verbum Dei 30.
