Baseball: The Garveys get their moment at Dodger Stadium

Steve Garvey was a proud father while looking at his son, Ryan, the center fielder for Palm Desert, at Dodger Stadium on Friday night in the Southern Section Division 4 championship game. Palm Desert was beaten by Bishop Amat, 7-0, but the Garveys had a moment to savor.

The former Dodger great was signing autographs and taking photos. His former manager, Tommy Lasorda, gave a pregame pep talk to Palm Desert. And Ryan hit a double in his first at-bat.
