The best team in Southern Section Division 1 is the Riverside North Huskies.

North (27-7), the Big VIII League co-champions, played solid defense and executed on offense when needed to win its first title since 1994 by defeating Anaheim Esperanza, 7-1, on Friday night at Dodger Stadium.

Evan Perez (8-2) threw a complete game, allowing five hits. The Huskies got 10 hits off Esperanza ace Austin Pettibone. Gabriel Franca had two singles.

Andrew Saucedo contributed a three-run double in the seventh during a four-run outburst.
