Baseball: Pitchers are impressive in North Carolina

At the Tournament of Stars in North Carolina, Anaheim Servite pitcher Cole Irvin threw four shutout innings while striking out seven on Thursday to lead his team to victory.

Players are competing in a tournament trying to make the U.S. 18U national team. Camarillo pitcher Hunter Virant struck out two in an inning of relief. Lucas Giolito from Studio City Harvard-Westlake struck out five in four innings.

Jeremy Martinez from Santa Ana Mater Dei hit two home runs for his team.
