Encino Crespi Coach Scott Muckey is getting plenty of grief from ex-players now that Sean Gilmartin became a first-round draft choice of the Atlanta Braves. Martin was Crespi’s closer during his high school days before becoming a standout starting pitcher at Florida State.

‘I’m hearing about that _ why was he a relief pitcher?’ Muckey said. ‘He is a baseball rat. He’s not going to say much and he’ll do whatever needs to be done. He’s 100% pure baseball.’

He’s the second first-round pick out of Crespi for Muckey, joining Trevor Plouffe.
