Huntington Beach Edison pitcher Henry Owens was taken No. 36 overall by the Boston Red Sox.

The 6-foot-7 left-hander was 12-1 this season for the Chargers.

At No. 35, Chino outfielder Jacob Anderson went to the Toronto Blue Jays and was the first high school player from Southern California chosen.

Corona Santiago shortstop Brandon Martin went No. 38 to Tampa Bay Rays. Tustin third baseman Travis Harrison went No. 50 to the Minnesota Twins.
