Track & Field: Adekayode, Miller win City long jump

Kevin Adekayode of Chatsworth and Kierra Miller of Carson won the boys’ and girls’ long jump events at the City Section Championships in Lake Balboa.

Adekayode, a senior for the Chancellors, leaped 21 feet, nine inches to edge Dorsey’s Marcus Eggleston, who was second with a distance of 21-8 1/4. Esston Al-Uqdah of Crenshaw was third in 21-5.

Miller, a junior for the Colts, jumped 17-6 3/4 on her first attempt and was never caught. Palisades sophomore Kendall Gustafson was second in 17-4 3/4 and Hannah Lopez was third at 16-0.
