Swimming: Loyola emerges as favorite for Division 1 title

The Southern Section Division 1 swimming championships are set for Friday at 6 p.m. in Long Beach, and Los Angeles Loyola is the strong favorite after the prelims.

Senior Britt Dalby has the top qualifying time in the 50 freestyle at 20.48. Junior Fred Abramyan is seeded No. 1 in the 100 freestyle at 45.44. In the 100 breaststroke, Andrew Angeles and Peter Kropp are the top two qualifiers.
