Softball: El Camino Real increases its lead

Top-seeded El Camino Real added a run in the third inning and leads Carson 3-0 in the City Section championship game at Cal State Northridge.

Dani Gilmore led off by drilling a changeup over the head of center fielder Brittanie Lamotte for a triple. After Emily Waterbury walked, Cassandra Perez hit a foul ball near the first base dugout that was caught by first baseman Viridiana Ramos. Gilmore alertly sprinted home and beat the relay throw to the plate.

Junior pitcher Karyn Wright has six strikeouts for El Camino Real.
