The Marine League champion Colts (26-3) are led by senior pitcher Crystal Maas (18-2) and junior shortstop Darian Tautalafua, who is tied for the state lead with 15 home runs. Carson beat Reseda Cleveland, Wilmington Banning and Los Angeles Marshall to reach the finals.

This is the first meeting between the schools in the finals since El Camino Real beat Carson 3-0 in 1999.
