Softball: Carson charges into the lead

Taking advantage of two costly throwing errors, Carson exploded for four runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 4-3 lead over El Camino Real in the City Section championship game at Cal State Northridge.

Viridiana Ramos led off the with a double to the wall in center field, then El Camino Real third baseman Cassandra Perez‘s low throw to first skipped under the glove of Alex Conway to give the Colts runners at second and third. Darian Tautalafua doubled off the center field wall to score two runs.

Shortstop McKenna Arriola‘s errant throw to first scored another run, then Ramona Robledo hit a sacrifice fly to right to score Brittany Moeai with the go-ahead run.
