Baseball: Palm Desert wins Desert Valley League title

Brooks Kriske threw a complete game to improve to 10-1, and Palm Desert (24-4) won the Desert Valley League title with an 8-0 win over Palm Springs.

Kriske also had a double and single. Kaz Halcovich was three for four with two doubles. Brian Serven hit a grand slam and brother Jonathan Serven had two doubles.

Sophomore Tyler Russell raised his pitching record to 8-1 as Southwestern League champion Vista Murrieta defeated Temecula Valley, 3-2. Vista Murrieta is 21-5 overall.
