Orange High has been selected by the Major League Baseball Groundskeepers and the Baseball Tomorrow Fund to have its field renovated in a service project to begin this month and completed by Jan. 10, 2012.

Barney Lopas, the head groundskeeper for the Angels, will lead a group of his counterparts in overseeing the project.

‘We are very excited to begin the field renovation at Orange High School,’ Lopas said in a news release. ‘The previous renovations have set the bar very high, but we are up to the challenge of creating an incredible field and leaving a lasting impact on the school and its baseball program.’

Each year, the Major League Groundskeepers choose a community and renovate a baseball field in need of repair.
