Baseball: Bishop Amat pulls out 5-4 win over Torrance

May 31, 2011 |  8:50 pm

Down, 4-0, La Puente Bishop Amat ended up tying the game, 4-4, then scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to beat Torrance, 5-4, in a Southern Section Division 4 semifinal. Andrew Gutierrez drove in the winning run with the bases loaded.

Bishop Amat will play Palm Desert in Friday's 4:30 p.m. final at Dodger Stadium.

Bishop Amat lost to Palm Desert, 5-1, in its season opener. I think this game will be the best of the weekend at Dodger Stadium. And everyone has to be excited about a Garvey returning to Dodger Stadium. Ryan Garvey, the son of ex-Dodger great Steve Garvey, plays for Palm Desert.
