Volleyball: Valencia sets state record for consecutive league wins

Valencia's volleyball team won its state-record 97th consecutive Foothill League match on Tuesday, defeating Saugus, 25-17, 25-14, 21-25, 25-20.

Coach Mark Knudsen's Vikings were led by Kurt Fults, who had seven kills. Broc Oppler and Griffin Nichols added six kills each.

The streak dates back to 2001 and broke the record of 96 consecutive victories held by Los Angeles Loyola.
