Football: Larry Muir is staying at Valencia

Call it a close call. Larry Muir, the highly successful football coach at Valencia, is married to Pam Walker, the director of operations for UCLA’s women’s basketball program.

When Nikki Caldwell left UCLA for LSU, Walker was given the chance to join her, and that would have meant Muir moving to Louisiana and getting another coaching job.

But Walker and Muir have decided to stay in Southern California, so Muir is getting his team ready for spring football and summer passing competitions.

And there’s a sigh of relief from lots of people.
