Football: Dashon Hunt set to get UCLA offer

Dashon Hunt of Westlake Village Westlake will be a junior this fall, but UCLA apparently doesn’t need to wait and see what else he can do on the football field. Coach Jim Benkert said Saturday that a Bruins recruiter wants Hunt to speak next week with Bruins Coach Rick Neuheisel for an official offer.

The 5-foot-9 Hunt had seven interceptions as a sophomore playing cornerback. He’s also expected to be a running back for the Warriors this fall.

Hunt and the Warriors played against Long Beach Jordan and North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake in a passing competition on Saturday. He has quickness, good instincts and lots of confidence.
