If it’s April, it’s time for combines and camps and the constant speculation who’s up and who’s down in the college football recruiting world.
Long Beach Veterans Stadium will be the site on Saturday for the Nike SPARQ Combine. There’s also a camp at USC.
It will offer lots of opportunities to see who runs the fastest 40-yard dash and who’s going to ‘blow up’ among recruiters.
It’s great fodder, but the bottom line still remains athletes need to get their grades up, get stronger in the weight room and produce on the field. That sometimes gets lost in the run-up toward the season beginning in September.
So everyone, enjoy a wonderful weekend of sun and hype. It will be fun to see which players get the ‘buzz.’
