Baseball: What a week for Harvard-Westlake

North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake had to play three tough Mission League games this week, and the Wolverines won each close game, ending with a 9-8 victory over Sherman Oaks Notre Dame on Friday to improve to 3-0.

Joe Corrigan hit a three-run home run. Wes Peacock had three RBIs and Sam Horn added two RBIs.

In Tennessee, Valencia advanced to the tournament championship game with a 7-5 victory over Christian Brothers. Quincy Quintero threw a complete gme. Nick Rivas, Parker Greenberg, Brian Mundell and Alex Bishop all had two hits.

In the Golden League, Quartz Hill defeated Palmdale, 3-2. Andre Rabiej gave up two hits in five innings. Ryan Marshall had two hits. Jay Sheeley drove in the winning run.

La Puente Bishop Amat defeated St. Paul, 9-0, in the Del Rey League, with Daniel Zamora allowing no hits for six innings and Rio Ruiz closing out the no-hitter.

In the Marmonte League, Simi Valley knocked off league leader Westlake, 4-1. Nick Vigo threw a complete game, allowing four hits. Cody Ramer had three hits. Moopark defeated Agoura, 5-1.

In the Tri-Valley League, Oaks Christian defeated Malibu, 10-0.

In the Camino Real League, L.A. Cathedral defeated Cantwell, 12-1. Freshman Alan Trejo had a home run, double and single.
