Baseball: It’s showdown time in the Alpha League

North Hollywood Campbell Hall (9-1, 3-0) and Van Nuys Montclair Prep (10-5, 2-1) face off in a two-game Alpha League series Tuesday and Thursday that should produce intense, memorable games.
Several of the players have been teammates or rivals through youth ball.
On Tuesday at Campbell Hall, UCLA-bound junior Max Fried of Montclair Prep will have to take on some red-hot bats, including Adam Ehrlich, a Loyola Marymount-bound who who has 27 RBIs, and Brett Lake, who’s batting .687.
The two teams play again on Thursday at Montclair Prep. The Mounties have played a little bit tougher schedule, so that may give them an edge.
