Baseball: Gonzalez receives top award at National Classic

La Puente Bishop Amat outfielder Wallace Gonzalez was named the most outstanding player for the Hard 9 National Classic. Pitcher Jordan McCraney was selected the most outstanding pitcher, and Anaheim Esperanza outfielder Nick Catalano picked up the award for most outstanding offensive player.

Among the local all-tournament choices were Corey Sims and Anthony Esparza of Alemany, Raul Camas and Angel Rodriguez of Chatsworth, Dylan Moore, Kyle Twomey and Christopher Rivera of El Dorado, Tanner Reibenspies and Mathew Troupe of Chaminade, Rio Ruiz, Ryan Serrato and Seby Zavala of Bishop Amat, Scott Mason, Ryan Cooper and Brad Anderson of Esperanza and Tyler Alamo and John Valenzuela of Cypress.
