Baseball: Crescenta Valley improves to 10-1

Elliot Surrey struck out nine in five innings and went four for four with three doubles to help Crescenta Valley defeat Santa Monica, 5-4, in the Babe Herman tournament Saturday night. The Falcons improved to 10-1.

JSerra Coach Brett Kay earned his 100th career victory when the Lions defeated Fullerton, 6-2, in the Anaheim Lions tournament. Austin Hedges hit a home run and Clay Williamson had two hits.

Garrett Jimenez had five RBIs for Orange Lutheran in its game against Lakewood that ended in a 6-6 tiel.

Ventura defeated Canyon Country Canyon, 7-3. West Ranch defeated Ventura, 1-0.
