Harbor City Narbonne (13-3) gets to find out just how good it is this week, with Marine League games against San Pedro on Tuesday and Thursday, followed by a Saturday game against City Section title favorite Chatsworth.

The Gauchos are coming off a 9-2 victory over Birmingham and ace pitcher Kevin Torres. They’ve already beaten two other West Valley League teams, Cleveland and Granada Hills.

Danny Taylor leads the team in hitting with a .550 average.

West Valley League play begins this week, with defending City champion Woodland Hills El Camino Real playing Birmingham in a two-game series beginning Wednesday.

What’s interesting is that the league races probably won’t be decided until the final week of action because that’s when the top teams are scheduled to play.

In Valley Mission League, favorites Granada Hills Kennedy and San Fernando close out the regular season with a two-game series. In the West Valley, El Camino Real and Chatsworth don’t meet until the next-to-last series. In the Coliseum League, Crenshaw and Fremont end their regular season with a two-game series.
