Girls’ basketball: Rolling Hills Prep wins 6A title

The second half was merely a continuation of the first for Rolling Hills Prep of San Pedro, which won the Southern Section Division 6A championship in resounding fashion at the Anaheim Convention Center, routing Redlands Adventist Academy 65-26.

Freshman point guard Peyton Langston led the way with 28 points and four steals and sophomore center Mar-jana Phillips added 25 points, 14 rebounds and five steals for the top-seeded Huskies (19-3), who never trailed and held their opponents to two points in the first quarter.

Rolling Hills Prep shot 41.4% from the field while Redlands Adventist Academy made just 17.9% of its field goals. Sophomore guard Brianna Felipe scored 14 points and junior guard Ariana Casano added seven points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two blocks for the second-seeded Bulldogs (19-6).

Rolling Hills Prep won its four playoff games by an average of 41.9 points.
