Boys’ basketball: Ryan Anderson selected state player of the year

Long Beach Poly’s Ryan Anderson has been selected the Gatorade state player of the year in boys’ basketball.
The 6-foot-8 Anderson led Poly to the Southern Section Division 1AA championship, averaging 16.5 points and 9.7 rebounds. He has signed with Boston College.
The award recognizes outstanding athletic excellence and achievements in academics while also displaying exemplary character on and off the court, and that’s Anderson.
