Boys’ basketball: Randolph gives St. Bernard a lift

Sophomore Brandon Randolph made a three-pointer at the buzzer, enabling St. Bernard to tie St. Joseph Notre Dame, 28-28, at halftime of the Division V state championship game in Sacramento.

It was a well-played first half, with accurate shooting from both teams. St. Joseph benefited from making five three-pointers. Jacari Whitfield made three three-pointers for St. Joseph. And 6-10 Brendan Keane had four baskets in the second quarter.

Thurman Thomas started to contribute in the second quarter for St. Bernard and had eight points in the half. Randolph had 10 points.
