An emphatic dunk just before the buzzer punctuated a dominating first half for Long Beach Poly in the Southern Section Division 1AA championship game at the Anaheim Convention Center.

The Jackrabbits have Corona Centennial on the ropes, leading 38-22 at intermission.

Poly jumped ahead 8-0 and gradually widened the lead with transition baskets and textbook half-court offense. Alex Carmon has 11 points, Alexis Moore has 10 and Ryan Anderson has nine for the top-seeded Jackrabbits, who are shooting 53.8% from the floor.

Michael Caffey has 10 points and Gelaun Wheelwright has six for the third-seeded Huskies, who have been out-rebounded 21-8 and have made just nine of 25 shots (36.0%).
