Boys’ basketball: Mater Dei 28, Poly 27

Mater Dei has come charging back and leads Long Beach Poly 28-27 halftime of tonight’s Southern California Regional Division I semifinal at Long Beach City College.

The Monarchs outscored Poly 22-8 in the second quarter, led by Katin Reinhardt, who has 12 points, and Xavier Johnson, who has eight points.

Ryan Anderson has nine points for Poly, which led 19-6 after the first quarter.
