Still on a high after its dramatic two-point victory over Torrey Pines, Los Angeles Loyola faces the tough task of traveling to Santa Ana Mater Dei on Thursday night to face the talened Monarchs in a quarterfinal game of the Southern California Division I regional playoffs.

The pressure will be on freshman point guard Parker Cartwright, but he seems to thrive in big-game situations. The key for the Cubs will be denying three-pointers to Mater Dei junior Katin Reinhardt and trying to hold their own on the boards against the taller Monarchs.

The winner moves on to a Saturday semifinal game against Long Beach Poly or Etiwanda.
