Boys’ basketball: Gahr 40, Mayfair 40

Whichever team wins the fourth quarter will win the Southern Section Division 2A championship game at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Lakewood Mayfair outscored Cerritos Gahr 13-10 in the third quarter to tie the score 40-40 entering the final eight minutes. Gahr is shooting 31.6% from the field and Mayfair is at 28.9%.

Dion Wright has 12 points and Myles Smith has 10 for the fifth-seeded Monsoons. Javonte Sales and Kyle Benton each have eight for the seventh-seeded Gladiators, who have led by as many as seven points.
