Boys’ basketball: Carl Cooper turns in 30-point performance

Carl Cooper of La Verne Lutheran contributed 30 points, including four three-pointers, to help his team topple No. 2-seeded North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake, 61-45, in a Southern California Division III regional semifinal.

Lutheran was one of the last teams to earn a spot in the state playoffs and advances to the Division III regional final game on Saturday at USC’s Galen Center against top-seeded La Canada, which beat Inglewood, 60-50.
