Baseball: Max Fecske gets four hits for Notre Dame

Sherman Oaks Notre Dame received four hits from Max Fecske and a bases-clearing triple from J.J. Muno to defeat Pasadena La Salle, 13-3, in a nonleague game. The Knights are 12-3 overall.

Quartz Hill (11-3, 1-0) opened Golden League play with an 8-0 win over Palmdale Highland. Jay Sheeley had two hits and four stolen bases. Andrew Rabiej threw six shutout innings, striking out five.

In an East Valley League game, Verdugo Hills defeated Monroe, 8-4. Gabe Guerra hit a home run. In the Valley Mission League, Van Nuys defeated Panorama, 16-0. Tommy Sugimoto had three hits.

West Hills Chaminade (8-2) defeated La Quinta, 3-2. Cole Rutherford and Ryan Vergara had two hits apiece. Mission Hills Alemany defeated (Col.) Standley Lake, 5-1. Corey Sims went three for three with two RBIs. Cory Messmore threw five shutout innings.

Luke Jupp had three hits and Daniel Rivas have five RBIs in Birmingham’s (9-3) 13-0 win over Sun Valley Poly. Gardena Serra defeated North Torrance, 6-4.

In Arizona, North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake was beaten by (Ariz.) Horizon, 6-4.
