Baseball: Travis Radke throws shutout for Oaks Christian

Travis Radke keeps throwing blanks, which is good news for Westlake Village Oaks Christian. He allowed three hits and improved to 4-0 in helping Oaks Christian defeat Newbury Park, 3-0, on Saturday. Trevor Gretzky and Josh Davis had two hits apiece.

In a Marmonte League game, Simi Valley scored five runs in the eighth inning to defeat Calabasas, 6-1. Nick Vigo went the distance, throwing a four-hitter for the Pioneers. Branden Grieger, Cody Ramer and Reece Schmidt had two hits apiece.

In the Foothill League, Tyler Glasnow allowed no hits in 5 2/3 innings while walking seven in Hart’s 10-0 win over Canyon Country Canyon. Hart is 9-1 and 3-0. Luke Persico had three hits.

Golden Valley defeated Saugus, 8-7. Josh Smith had two triples.

Granada Hills Kennedy defeated Bell, 4-2. Reseda Cleveland defeated Moorpark, 5-2, behind Jack Hartman, who threw six innings.

Erick Munoz had three hits and four RBIs in Birmingham’s 7-4 win over Thousand Oaks. Woodland Hills El Camino Real defeated Arleta, 11-1, with Chris Whitmer getting three hits, Chris Nicholson hitting a two-run home run and Javy Rodriguez getting a three-run home run.

St. Francis defeated Los Altos, 9-7.

El Toro got a two-run home run from sophomore Gavin Collins in a 5-0 victory over Anaheim Western.

Sherman Oaks Notre Dame defeated West Covina in a doubleheader, 11-1 and 9-3. The Knights are 9-3 on the season.

L.A. Cathedral (10-2) won the (Ariz.) Mesa Spring Break tournament. Cathedral defeated Miami, 9-0, in the semifinals. Freshmen Julian Perez and Alan Trejo each had two hits, and Sergio Luna threw a no-hitter with seven strikeouts. In the final, Cathedral defeated (Ariz.) Bagdad, 7-0. Oscar Leong struck out eight. David Sanchez, Jaime Figueroa and Brian Orozco had two hits each.
