Baseball: Lucas Giolito gets 10 strikeouts in 12-0 victory

Attention Mission League teams. If you want to win the league title, you better figure out how to defeat junior pitcher Lucas Giolito of North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake.
In a tuneup for next week’s opener against Mission Hills Alemany, Giolito struck out 10 and allowed two hits in a 12-0 victory over Malibu in the first game of a doubleheader. Earlier this season, Giolito threw a shutout against Calabasas. Joe Corrigan went three for three and freshman Jack Flaherty hit a home run.
In the second game, the Wolverines also won, 12-0. Flaherty threw four shutout innings in a combined no-hitter. Arden Pabst had two hits.
Palm Desert hit four home runs in a 19-0 win over Rancho Alamitos. Scott Burcham hit a grand slam and Ryan Garvey hit his third home runs of the season.
