Hart relief pitcher Bobby Stafford should start sending out his resume to colleges on the East Coast, because he proved on Wednesday he can pitch in the rain.

Saugus had the bases loaded in the top of the seventh in a downpour, but Stafford was able to get a strikeout and fly out to enable Hart to come away with a 7-2 Foothill League victory. Hart is 8-1 and 2-0.

Connor O’Brien went three for three and Alex Tenorio added three hits. Erik Vogel pitched into the seventh for the Indians.

Valencia didn’t have to worry about rain in its Foothill League victory. The Vikings quickly took care of Golden Valley, 10-0. Jake Roberge struck out six in a complete game. A.J. Balta hit a two-run home run and Quincy Quintero added a home run and three RBIs.
