Baseball: Good luck pitchers when you face Valencia
It's one weekend into the baseball season, and Simi Valley Coach Matt La Belle has concluded about Valencia, "One through nine, they're the best hitting team I've ever seen."
I need a little more time to second that opinion, but when I saw Valencia in a scrimmage against North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake, it was clear the Vikings are loaded in the hitting department.
Good luck to pitchers trying to find a weak bat. Whether it's Trey Williams, Quincy Quintero, Shane Zeile or the improving A.J. Balta, the Vikings have the personnel to score lots of runs.
They're 2-0 on the season and face visiting Quartz Hill on Tuesday. The other quarterfinal games have Chatsworth at Oaks Christian, Hart at Thousand Oaks and Westlake at Chaminade. Here's more next games in the Easton tournament.

The Back-to-Back Champs w/ at least 12 wins in a row in this tourney get no respect.... Yes, lots of new faces but still???? Wowzers...
