Baseball: El Toro gets doubleheader split with No. 1 Edison

Lake Forest El Toro more than held its own during a doubleheader Tuesday night against No. 1 Huntington Beach Edison.

In the first game, Edison rallied for a 4-3 victory, scoring two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh. Tyler Brashears struck out 11 for El Toro. Edison’s Eric Snyder and Joe Torres each had three hits.

In the second game, Garrett Mundell threw a three-hitter to defeat Edison, 5-1. He struck out two. Mundell is 2-0 with an 0.99 ERA this season.

Newhall Hart swept a doubleheader from West Torrance, 4-3 and 2-0. Tyler Glasnow threw the shutout in game two, allowing three hits.
