The hitters at West Hills Chaminade aren’t hitting, but their pitchers don’t seem to care, because they keep producing victories for the Eagles, who improved to 3-0 on Tuesday with a 1-0 victory over Westlake Village Westlake.

Michael Dingilian threw the first four innings, scattering four hits, then turned the ball over to the hard-throwing Dalton Brown, who recorded five strikeouts over the final three innings to pick up the save and advance Chaminade to the Easton tournament semifinals.

Sophomore Zak Daniels was the tough-luck loser. He struck out seven and walked none in five innings. Chaminade pushed across the game’s only run in the second inning when Jason D’Andrea scored from second on a hit-and-run infield single.

It’s pretty clear hitters are still adjusting to new BBCOR bats, with the pitchers in control.

Chaminade will play Valencia on Thursday. Valencia defeated Quartz Hill, 4-3, with Trey Williams getting the game-winning RBI.
