Baseball: A.J. Silberman strikes out 10 for ECR

Looking for a No. 2 pitcher, Woodland Hills El Camino Real may have found one in A.J. Silberman, who struck out 10 in 6 2/3 innings while allowing three hits in a 10-3 victory over Verdugo Hills.

San Fernando improved to 2-0 with a 7-1 win over Monroe. James An went three for three with two doubles. Jose Reyes also had two doubles.

Sun Valley Poly defeated Fairfax, 8-1. Jose Hernandez struck out nine. Omar Rodriguez had two hits for the Parrots (1-1).

Arleta defeated Roosevelt, 4-2. Miguel Perez gave up two hits in five innings. Javy Lopez, Derek Maldonado and Andres Coll had two hits apiece.
