Baseball: Loyola wins a wild game against Crespi, 11-10

Down by two runs with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning, Los Angeles Loyola pulled out an 11-10 victory over Encino Crespi in a Mission League opener when Xavier Borde hit a dramatic three-run home run.

That home run wiped out a memorable performance from Crespi’s Scott Heineman. He hit two home runs using a wood bat. Loyola is 3-3 overall and Crespi is 4-2.

St. Francis defeated Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, 6-3, in another Misison League opener.

In the championship game of the Chino tournament, Riverside Poly defeated Etiwanda, 6-5.

In an Alpha League opener, Van Nuys Montclair Prep defeated Santa Monica Crossroads, 8-1. Max Fried allowed two hits over six innings and contributed two hits and two RBIs. Paul Aldape and Nick Suniga added two hits apiece. Montclair Prep is 5-1. Crossroads is 4-2.

Ventura defeated Oak Park, 3-1.
