Football: Matt Cassel welcomed back to Chatsworth

They showed videos, made speeches and gave a standing ovation to former Chatsworth High quarterback Matt Cassel, who returned to his alma mater Friday to have his jersey retired.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback graduated from Chatsworth in 2000 and made a triumphant return, telling more than 300 Chatsworth athletes during a school assembly to never give up on their dreams.

"The success didn't change him. He's the same person," Chatsworth baseball Coach Tom Meusborn said.
