With one week to go in the regular season, the next-to-last Southern Section polls are out for boys’ basketball, and they are important because they’re used in the seeding process that begins this weekend.

Even though it lost for the first time last week, Long Beach Poly remains No. 1 in Division 1AA. Santa Ana Mater Dei is No. 2, and if that holds, the Monarchs wouldn’t have to face Poly until the championship game. Corona Centennial is No. 3 and Etiwanda No. 4.

There was a big change in Division 2AA. Mission Viejo’s first loss allowed Ventura to take over as the No. 1 team and likely No. 1 seed.

Here’s the link to polls.
