Boys’ basketball: Garfield wins on shot with two seconds left

Los Angeles Garfield is going to the City Section Division III championship game after a dramatic 67-65 semifinal victory over Van Nuys Grant. Renato Munoz made a follow shot with two seconds left for the Bulldogs (21-6).

Julian Sandoval scored 21 points for Garfield, which will play top-seeded Chatsworth in next Saturday’s 8 p.m. championship game at Roybal. Gor Plavehyan had 27 points for Grant. Chatsworth defeated Hamilton, 68-53.

In Division II, L.A. University and Harbor City Narbonne advanced to next Friday’s championship game at Roybal. University defeated San Pedro, 44-42. Narbonne defeated Woodland Hills El Camino Real, 64-38. El Camino Real was without Temjae Singleton, who couldn’t play because of illness.
