Boys' basketball: Cezar Guerrero pours in 37 points
Cezar Guerrero scored 37 points to help Bellflower St. John Bosco defeat Oak Park, 69-60, in a Southern Section Division 4AA second-round playoff game on Friday.
Los Angeles Windward got 24 points from Nic Stover in a 85-42 win over Tahquitz. Atascadero defeated Chaminade, 64-54. Alemany defeated Compton Centennial, 65-52, with Jordan Fuller scoring 20 points.
In 2AA, Chris Anderson had 17 points and nine assists as Anaheim Canyon defeated Canyon Country Canyon, 65-59.
In 2A, top-seeded Peninsula defeated Rowland, 59-49.
In 1AA, Valencia upset Murrietta Valley, 77-70, with Lonnie Jackson scoring 36 points. Valencia will play Etiwanda, an 86-54 winner over Chino Hills. Byron Wesley had 27 points for Etiwanda. Santa Ana Mater Dei defeated Rancho Verde, 58-46. Xavier Johnson scored 20 points and had nine rebounds. Corona Centennial held off Los Alamitos, 59-55. Dominique Dunning had 18 points.
In 1A, top-seeded Los Angeles Loyola defeated Palmdale Highland, 98-58. Joe Stein had 24 points.
In 3A, Harvard-Westlake defeated Brea, 65-58. Encino Crespi defeated Beverly Hills, 65-55. Matt Mounier had 19 points for Crespi. Austin Mills scored 25 points for Beverly Hills.

I wouldn't consider Valencia beating Murrieta Valley tonight an upset since Murrieta Valley was without all-CIF player Justin Gudger, who broke his ankle in Wednesday's first round game. Gudger was averaging almost 20 points per game.
