Forty-three football players from Los Angeles View Park Prep are scheduled to be honored by the Los Angeles City Council Friday morning for combining to have the highest grade-point average out of 72 teams in LAUSD.

View Park, which won the City Section Division III championship, had a 3.3 GPA.

Coach Robert Ambers said coaches hold mandatory study hall every other day. Players submit weekly progress reports and have to sit out half a game if they miss homework assignments.
