De’Anthony Thomas of Crenshaw wants to play running back at USC, but he remains one heck of a defensive back. At Saturday’s U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, he had eight tackles, plus an interception, as the West was beaten by the East, 13-10. Mission Viejo’s Bob Johnson coached the West team.

Also, it was announced that several Southern California juniors have been selected for next year’s game, including receiver Jordan Payton from Westlake Village Oaks Christian and Jordan Simmons from Encino Crespi.
