Crenshaw tailback-defensive back De’Anthony Thomas, who led the Cougars to a second consecutive City Section title, has been selected The Times’ Glenn Davis Award winner as the top player in Southern California.

The USC-bound Thomas becomes the first City player to win the award since Carson quarterback John Walsh in 1990.

Other players honored by The Times were Corona Centennial quarterback Michael Eubank as Back of the Year and Anaheim Servite’s Troy Niklas as Lineman of the Year. Santa Margarita’s Harry Welch was the Coach of the Year.

The full all-star package, including the final top 25 and first-team player selections, can be found at latimes.com/highschools.
